Nintendo Direct Reaction

Hello there lovely followers! Some of you may know that Nintendo released their Nintendo Direct video this Wednesday. They announced new games, updates, and merchandise, some of which I am very excited for. So here are some notes I took about the things I am looking forward to. If you missed it, here is the video.

Majora’s Mask for 3 and 2ds: I have never played this one because it looks creepy. I do like all of the purple colors incorporated in the game though. (You see, it's my favorite color). Apparently it’s considered the creepiest Zelda game, and much of its content can be connected to African culture. I watched a YouTube video from The Game Theorists about some of those connections. You can watch it here.

Codename Steam: I like how Nintendo does other things. I’m only familiar with famous Nintendo characters so new games introducing new characters interes me. Plus, it has Abe Lincoln. The makers of Fire Emblem have helped with this game, and it definitely has some similarities to the look of those games. We’ll see how the mechanics go.

Toad Treasure Tracker: It kind of has a Mario Galaxy feel as the worlds are small. It looks like there’s a sense of strategy and fun, perfectly fitting the Mario genre. This one might just make it to my Christmas and/or birthday list. There appears to be a lot of replay value which I’ve never had much interest in, but The Gamer likes to do that.

Amiibo: We love this concept. It’s a custom character based on how you use it in the games. How cool is that?! Plus, it makes for a great collector’s item that isn’t just sitting on a shelf. I am SO excited for the MK8 DLC coming out next week, especially Link and the Master Cycle! My sister texted me and we have an online double date with her and her husband as we all experience the new content together for the first time. I’m very interested in how these figures will work with future games. The spinner in Hyrule Warriors looks sick. Every figure compatible with Smash Bros. works with Hyrule Warriors as special items when you scan them in. Cool!

Duck Hunt Character for Smash Bros. This game is a part of my childhood. I loved going to the neighbor’s house and playing it. It looks like a fun and interesting twist as the duck and dog are buddies. Their fighting style looks very fun.

Pikmin Short Movies: They look super cute. I just don’t want to pay that much for them. Oh well. The Gamer is excited. Also, you can play a demo of Pimin 3 and the data can transfer when you buy the game.

Xenoblade Chronicles X: I loved more news about this game. I liked the story of the first one so I am excited to meet new players and unfold a new story. It looks awesome, as The Gamer said. I like how the Game Pad is the map so that there’s more space for the world to be seen on the TV screen.

Splatoon: I actually think this looks fun and cute. It's a friendly first person shooter as you compete in teams to see you get the most paint splattered in an area. It looks like it’s going to be a good game to play with The Gamer and other friends and family who have the Wii U.

In other gaming news, BlizzCon is going on this weekend and they brought some exciting news about a new Starcraft game, a Warcraft movie, and more. You can find out what's going on here and here.

Thanks for responding to our survey we made yesterday. It gave us a feel as to what you, our readers, whant to see more of from this blog. See you next week!
