Why I Love Kingdom Hearts

Hello everyone!

I have been really busy and haven’t had a lot of time to research lately so I’m just going to talk about my favorite video game: Kingdom Hearts.

The Gamer introduced me to this franchise about a year ago. I was starting to warm up to the idea of playing video games on my down time because I was bored and wanted to try something new. He told me about this great game that included Disney characters. The main characters travel to all of these worlds based on Disney films and you get to fight alongside some of my favorites like Aladdin and Beast.

I was sold.

We hooked up the trusty PS2, and I started my Kingdom Hearts journey. This goofy looking kid named Sora and his friends Riku and Kairi all wanted to get off their little island and travel, knowing that there must be more out there. I could relate to this since I’m from a small town and would love to travel one of these days.

I played the game and fell in love. I loved the gameplay, the story, the music, the characters…basically everything! The 1.5 Remix came out and I started over. I didn’t regret that. It was a easier to maneuver and control everything.

I think one of the biggest themes Kingdom Hearts is the power of friendship. At one point Sora even says that his friends are his power. It doesn’t matter whether you have a bunch of friends or just a few. So long as you know they’ve got your back you’re golden.

Both The Gamer and I recently completed Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix and wow. I didn’t think the story could get any better but it did. As I’ve learned more about the gaming world, I could recognize more of the Final Fantasy characters that appear in the games as well. I find that learning about anything, even video games, can enrich my life.

All right, enough talk. Go play!

If you want to know more about the franchise, there’s an official Kingdom Hearts website, where you can explore the latest news and find out about the series. Also, if you want to know how it was started and how successful the games are then check out the Wikipedia page. They have other sources on that page that are a little more resourceful than Wikipedia.

SEE YOU NEXT WEEK!
